Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026Tokyo Confidential is a venue guide, not a data company. We collect only what we need to run the service and nothing more.
What we collect
- Email address (for account creation and booking confirmations)
- Display name and handle (shown on your profile)
- Saved venues and preferences (to personalize your experience)
- Booking history (to manage your reservations)
What we do not collect
- Location data
- Contacts or phone data
- Browsing history outside our app
- Financial information (payments are handled by Apple and Stripe)
Authentication
We use Clerk for authentication. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only your email and name. We never see your password.
Third parties
We share booking details (name, party size, date) with partner restaurants to confirm your reservation. We do not sell, trade, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Data storage
Your data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS in ap-northeast-1, Tokyo). Offline venue data is stored locally on your device.
Account deletion
You can delete your account from the app (Profile > Delete account). This permanently removes all your data from our servers. Active subscriptions should be cancelled separately through your platform's subscription settings.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will not materially reduce your privacy protections without notice.
